The danger of rolling over is ended with this custom made bedside table. It is constructed with a plywood sheet that slides under the matress, and the foot is clamped to the bed rail. The strength to allow the patient to pull up is provided by clamping (or screwing) the table to the night stand.
As you can see, the patient can reach through to get the glass, or snacks, and the rail is a great place for the doorbell button.
